AT&T Unlimited Extra EL is AT&T’s mid-level unlimited wireless plan.
This plan is well-suited for users who want unlimited data and to save money. If you want to stream music and browse the internet, you don’t use your phone for much video streaming, and you don’t mind unlimited deprioritized data after you exceed your premium data allotment, AT&T Unlimited Extra EL may be the right plan for you.
AT&T Unlimited Extra EL comes at a good price for those who want a high-speed data plan with no frills, so it’s a good fit if perks aren’t important to you and your main concern is features and costs. It's comparable to T-Mobile and Verizon unlimited plan pricing for plans with similar features.
Keep in mind that pricing is not inclusive of taxes and fees, which can add around 10-12% to the advertised price.
With AT&T Unlimited Extra EL, you get a set amount of premium data (aka high-speed data). When you max that out, you have unlimited deprioritized data, which may slow down during busy times on a wireless network. However, for the average user, these slowdowns generally go unnoticed.
Some wireless carriers include streaming add-on services in their wireless service plan pricing. However, AT&T does not currently offer many additional perks like streaming services or other subscriptions for its unlimited plans.
AT&T operates on its own nationwide 4G LTE and 5G networks. The 4G LTE network covers 58% of the country, which is the largest in the United States. Its 5G covers 28% of the map, making it the second-largest 5G network in the country, and includes its ultra-fast 5G+ (also known as 5G Plus).

AT&T Unlimited Extra EL sits between AT&T Unlimited Premium PL and AT&T Unlimited Starter SL. For those who don't need hotspot data, there's also AT&T Unlimited Value Plus VL, AT&T's most budget-friendly unlimited option.
The Unlimited Extra EL plan is AT&T’s mid-level service plan.
The Unlimited Extra EL plan offers an amount of premium data that most users don’t go over, so if you’d like high-speed data and don’t mind deprioritized data if you max out your premium data, AT&T Unlimited Extra EL is worth considering.
The Unlimited Extra EL plan features a 30GB mobile hotspot data allowance per month.
