T-Mobile was one of the first major carriers to go all-in with unlimited data, an approach the company has carried over to the present day. T-Mobile plans are now exclusively of the unlimited variety, including the entry-level Essentials and Essentials Saver plans, the mid-level Go5G plan, and the premium Go5G Plus and Go5G Next plans.
In this article, we’ll outline our favorite all-around T-Mobile unlimited plan (Go5G), our favorite T-Mobile unlimited family plan (Go5G Plus), and our favorite budget T-Mobile unlimited plan (Essentials). We’ll also tell you everything you need to know about T-Mobile perks, and what you can expect in terms of T-Mobile coverage.
Our favorite overall T-Mobile unlimited plan is Go5G. At $75/month, it’s reasonably priced for everything it includes, like 100GB of premium data, a 15GB mobile hotspot allowance, 6 months of Apple TV+ for free, and a host of international perks. All of this comes backed by T-Mobile’s formidable national 4G and 5G coverage.
While Go5G lacks some of the perks of T-Mobile’s premium plans (like unlimited premium data), we think the tradeoffs are worthwhile given the price.
If you have a family full of streaming fanatics, we recommend going with T-Mobile’s Go5G Plus plan. That’s because Go5G Plus features unlimited premium data—no deprioritization, ever—so your kids can stream the latest episode of Umbrella Academy without hitting any data speed bumps.
But Go5G Plus’s virtues don’t end there. It also includes a huge 50GB high-speed mobile hotspot data allowance, international perks like in-flight texting and WiFi where available, and free Netflix and Apple TV+ subscriptions. Yes, it’s expensive at $90/month for one line, but that price drops significantly as you add them. Go5G Plus goes down to $75/month when you sign up for two lines, $50/month when you sign up for three lines, and $46.25/month when you sign up for four lines. All in all, a feature-packed plan that should keep everybody in your family happy.
If you’re on the hunt for a cost-effective way to enjoy T-Mobile service, we recommend the $50/month Essentials Saver plan. While it lacks the extra perks and premium data of the carrier’s higher priced offerings, it still gives you access to the carrier’s powerful 5G network. If you can make do with deprioritized data and slow 3G hotspot data speeds, Essentials Saver may be exactly what you’re looking for.
As one of the country’s major carriers (a group that also includes Verizon and AT&T), T-Mobile operates its own system of national 4G LTE and 5G networks. T-Mobile’s 4G network ranks third out of the three majors in terms of total area covered, but its 5G network leads the pack. This 5G network is made up of both standard 5G spectrum and so-called 5G Ultra Capacity, which offers faster speeds and lower latency times.

T-Mobile’s plans share certain characteristics, including the following:
Yes, T-Mobile plans are really unlimited. However, in certain cases, your data may be slowed due to deprioritization when you exceed your monthly premium data threshold.
T-Mobile plans cost around $60–$85/month for a single line, with discounts for multiple lines. Family plans (4 lines) typically range from $120–$170/month, with taxes and fees included on most plans.
The cheapest T-Mobile unlimited plan is the carrier's Essentials Saver plan at $50/month. Essentials Saver offers 50GB of deprioritized data to use a month.
