Samsung Z Fold5 New Features and Improvements

The Galaxy Z Fold5 boasts a slimmer and more comfortable design, thanks to the new Flex Hinge that allows the phone to close fully flat. This addresses the previous issue of dust settling on the inner screen. The device is available in Ice Blue, Phantom Black, Cream, and exclusive Gray and Blue colors. The 6.2-inch AMOLED cover display has a 48-120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution, while the main 7.6-inch folding screen is now 30% brighter, reaching a peak brightness of 1,750 nits.

The Fold 5 features the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 'for Galaxy' chip, with a slightly higher-clocked main Cortex-X3 core for improved performance. It offers 12GB RAM and superfast UFS 4.0 storage in 256GB and 512GB configurations. The battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,400mAh, with 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging support.

Running on One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13, the Fold 5 introduces foldable-specific enhancements for a better user experience. It includes a two-handed drag-and-drop gesture, an easy switch to split-screen for pop-up apps, improved app previews, and an enhanced Taskbar displaying four recently used apps.

The Fold 5 retains the same camera setup as its predecessor, with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, and a 10MP f/2.4 3x telephoto shooter. The 4MP under-display camera and 10MP f/2.2 selfie shooter on the cover display remain unchanged.
