As one of America’s major carriers (along with AT&T and Verizon), T-Mobile operates its own powerful system of 4G and 5G networks, and a range of plans to enjoy them on. What’s more, several of these plans come bundled with great perks like free Netflix subscriptions and high-speed data in 210+ countries.
In recent years, T-Mobile has done away with its capped postpaid plans in favor of unlimited data—specifically, Essentials, Essentials Saver, Experience More, and Experience Beyond.
In this article, we’ll describe our favorite overall, family, and budget-conscious T-Mobile plans. Read on to learn about the best T-Mobile plans on the market right now.

Our choice for the best overall T-Mobile plan is Experience More. While it’s expensive at $85/month, Experience More includes just about everything you'd want in a top-tier plan, including unlimited premium data, a generous 60GB mobile hotspot data allowance, and a free Netflix With Ads subscription. Here’s a full list of the benefits that Go5G Plus comes with:
Rest assured you’ll be able to enjoy all of these plan features aboard one of the fastest and most reliable 5G networks in the country.
Adding lines to your T-Mobile wireless plan is a great way to save money, bringing down the cost per line significantly. This can allow you to get a bells-and-whistles plan for far less than it would be otherwise.
One such plan is T-Mobile’s B. Normally, this plan costs $100/month for one line; but it comes down to a more reasonable $56.66/month when you sign up for three lines, or $42.50/month when you add four. Here's what it includes:
Note that this plan includes all of the benefits of the aforementioned Experience More, as well as a Hulu (With Ads) subscription and the ability to upgrade your phone every year. Plus, you get access to T-Mobile's satellite service.
You’d be hard pressed to find another cell phone plan that includes all of this for the price. On their own, Netflix Standard With Ads costs $6.99/month, AppleTV+ costs $9.99/month, and Hulu (With Ads) costs $7.99/month. If you’re already signed up for these, you can simply drop those subscriptions, and get them free through your Experience Beyond plan.
If you’re looking to keep costs down, T-Mobile offers two budget-minded options: the $60/month Essentials plan, and the $50/month Essentials Saver plan.
Of these, we recommend Essentials Saver. While this unlimited plan lacks the extra perks and premium data of the carrier’s higher priced offerings, it still gives you access to the carrier’s powerful 5G network. If you can make do with deprioritized data (i.e., are willing to put up with data slowdowns during times of network congestion) and slow 3G hotspot data speeds, Essentials Saver may be what you’re looking for. Here’s what it includes:
T-Mobile sells a handful of prepaid plans in addition to its core postpaid offerings. These consist of three unlimited plans (the $60/month Unlimited Plus, $55/month Unlimited Promo, $50/month Unlimited), and one capped data plan (the $40/month 10GB plan). While these plans lack the extras of T-Mobile’s upper-tier postpaid plans, they do feature varying amounts of hotspot data and access to T-Mobile’s fast 5G network.
There are also a handful of prepaid carriers that operate on T-Mobile’s network, like Mint Mobile and, of course, Metro by T-Mobile. These smaller carriers, or MVNOs, tend to undercut the steep prices of major carriers like T-Mobile, though the coverage reliability and speeds can be a slight step down.
As with AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile stocks all of the flagship and mid-range phone models from the likes of Samsung, Apple, Google, and Motorola. Fortunately, T-Mobile constantly runs promotions that allow you to get your hands on these devices for far less than they would otherwise be.
T-Mobile phone deals typically require you to trade in an eligible device and sign up for a specified unlimited data plan. Discounts are then applied in the form of bill credits across 24 months.
The reason for going with T-Mobile over major carrier competitors AT&T and Verizon—not to mention the plethora of prepaid brands—comes down to two things: 5G coverage and perks.
While T-Mobile has historically trailed Verizon and AT&T in terms of 4G coverage, the carrier has been far more aggressive with its 5G network build out, to the point that its 5G network may actually be the best available in the U.S. right now. It’s no surprise they worked 5G into the title of their three top unlimited plans.
T-Mobile is one of the best carriers to go with if you’re seeking extras to go along with your cell phone plan. T-Mobile’s flagship plans——include dedicated mobile hotspot data, free Netflix With Ads and Apple TV+ streaming subscriptions, Plus, these plans feature varying amounts of international privileges like free in-flight Wi-Fi and data access in 210+ countries.
As one of the country’s three major mobile providers (along with AT&T and Verizon), T-Mobile offers a streamlined selection of unlimited data wireless plans that come backed by the company’s fast and wide-reaching 4G and 5G coverage.
Our favorite overall T-Mobile plan is the $85/month , given the totality of what it includes (streaming perks, unlimited premium data, a generous 60GB mobile hotspot). Our pick for the best T-Mobile family plan is the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink Experience Beyond, which costs $215/month, or $53.75/month per line, for four lines. Lastly, we think the $50/month Essentials Saver is a great option for those looking to save money on their T-Mobile service.
The average monthly cost for a T-Mobile plan varies by features and number of lines, typically ranging from about $60 to $85 per line for unlimited data. Family plans and multi-line discounts can bring the cost down per line.
Yes, T-Mobile does offer a $25 per month plan under its "Connect by T-Mobile" lineup, which is aimed at budget-conscious users. This prepaid plan includes unlimited talk and text within the U.S. and provides 8GB of high-speed data each month.
T-Mobile's most expensive plan is currently the Experience Beyond plan, priced at $100 per month for a single line. This premium plan offers unique benefits like the ability to upgrade to a new phone annually, once at least half of the device's cost is paid off. The plan also includes premium data, a generous mobile hotspot allocation, and access to streaming perks.
