Visible is a small carrier, or MVNO, that’s wholly owned by Verizon and operates on its network.
Visible’s reliance on Verizon’s 4G and 5G spectrum translates to great nationwide coverage. After all, Verizon operates one of the most powerful and wide-reaching systems of networks in the country.
In this article, we’ll give you the ins and outs of Visible’s coverage map, and how it stacks up against the ones belonging to other small carriers like Mint Mobile and Cricket Wireless.
Visible relies entirely on Verizon’s network infrastructure, giving it one of the most comprehensive coverage footprints in the U.S. This includes access to Verizon’s high-speed Ultra Wideband (UW) 5G in select areas.
One caveat: Verizon tends to prioritize its own customers during times of network congestion; if it’s especially busy, Visible customers may experience slightly slower speeds than Verizon customers.
Visible’s 4G LTE coverage is identical to Verizon’s, spreading across 56% of the country. This means customers can expect reliable service in most urban, suburban, and rural areas, with the exception of some extremely remote or mountainous regions where service may be weaker.
Visible customers get access to Verizon’s 5G network at no extra cost. By the numbers, Verizon’s 5G network spreads to 9% of the U.S. That may sound like much, but rest assured that many of the country’s cities and suburbs are well covered by Verizon 5G. Also, Verizon is aggressively expanding its 5G footprint, so this percentage should go up in the coming weeks and months.
One other note: Visible+ is the only Visible plan that lets you tap into Verizon’s fast 5G Ultra Wideband network; the more basic Visible plan doesn’t include this same level of network access, limiting you to Verizon’s slower (but more widely available) basic 5G.
Visible is just one of the many prepaid carriers vying for your business, a crowded field that also includes fellow little big players like Cricket Wireless and Mint Mobile. So how does Visible’s coverage stack up against these brands?
The handy chart below can help give you a sense of how Visible’s national network compares to a couple of its foremost competitors. Note that Mint Mobile uses T-Mobile’s system of networks, while Cricket uses AT&T’s.

While Visible loses the 4G and 5G battle against its competitors, rest assured that you won’t be making many coverage concessions by going with the small carrier—Visible’s Verizon-backed network is still one of the best in the country.
Visible Mobile sells two plans, both of which include unlimited data and access to 5G coverage: the entry-level $20/month Visible plan, and the $35/month Visible+ plan.

Visible now gives customers the option to pay for their service monthly or annually. The annual option will save you $25 on the Visible plan, and $145 on the Visible+ plan.
